PHOENIX AND RUBICAN

(A man in a fancy red, orange, yellow and gold oriental suit with flames and Rubican walk in a dark sewer.)

Rubican: Lord Phoenix, why must we be in such a reched place?

Phoenix: This is where our first Rebirth members are, Rubican.

Rubican: What a filthy hovel!

Phoenix: As crude as they may seem they are underrated. They have the power we need to rule this federation.

(A squeal can be heard in the background. Phoenix and Rubican stop dead in their tracks.)

Mankind: Knock, knock! Who goes there! Have. Have who? Have a NICE DAY!

Dream: Fear not beloved... the sewers shall swallow them alive, much like Valetia come WrestleMania. That is... unless they are pure evil of heart...! Come, shall we see their demise?

(Mankind finally comes into view holding hands with The Dream. Rubican hides behind Phoenix as he remains calm and polite.)

Phoenix: Greetings! You are Mankind and The Dream, I presume.

Mankind: It's so good to see you! I think. You were on Raw... with Heart Attack.

Phoenix: Is Vertigo here?

Dream: What you you want from my Vertigo?

Phoenix: We are to discuss the matters of our unification. You see, Vertigo and I have been speaking and you have been chosen to join my team, The Rebirth.

Mankind: Team!? These sewers are ours... the darkside belongs to us... NOT YOU!

Phoenix: You shall find out in time.

Mankind: Let's find out...RIGHT NOW! WHHAAAAAAAAAAA!

(Mankind dives at Phoenix as The Dream cheers him on. Mankind tries to get the Mandible Claw on him, but Phoenix gives him a judo throw into a large pipe. Mankind lunges in and drives Phoenix back into the opposite cement wall. Phoenix trips Mankind back. Mankind dives again, only this time Phoenix throws him over his shoulder and into the filthy water. Mankind frantically pulls himself out of the water. The Dream then comes after Phoenix just as Vertigo comes in, carrying her umbrella up and over her head.

Vertigo: (quietly) NO! Dream, he's on our side!

(The Dream pauses and looks back to Vertigo... then toward Rubican. The Dream helps up Mankind, who is dripping wet.)

Dream: You must control yourself, Mankind. Save your anger. Be a good boy. Remember what Piper said.

Mankind: Sorry.

Vertigo: (whispering) Mankind is very territorial, Phoenix. I'm truly sorry about this.

Phoenix: Understood.

Rubican: Let us get this over with...my dress needs to be clensed of this filth!

(Mankind slops some water up on her and giggles.)

Phoenix: We shall aid you in your quest against Strahden. She has decided to aid our foes so it is only fitting that we join with hers.

Dream: You seek to aid us?

Phoenix: We shall crush madam Strahden's forces...together, however, you shall dominate her as well as you did before.

Mankind: Von Strahden will return to us. The Darkside will engulf her again, blacker then ever before! Heeeeheee!

Dream: The Darkside reveals itself in mysterious ways. The gold, the glitter, it soils out sewers, but we shall adjust. We will listen to what you have to say.... for now.

Vertigo: You have my appoval as well. It has been a pleasure doing buisness with you.

Phoenix: Then you are worthy of wearing these...

(Rubican takes out a box with 3 golden sashes with the Fire Bird emblem on a buckle.)

Rubican: You are all now members of the Rebirth...be honored.

(Vertigo palms her sash as she holds it.)

Vertigo: This is...GOLD???

Phoenix: 14 karat, no less.

(The Dream and Mankind take out theirs. Dream wraps her sash around her head and cocks an eyebrow, through her mask. Mankind starts to do so too... then stops.Vertigo is busy winding hers around the handle of her umbrella.)

Mankind: Sweetness... there is another way... BIND THEM!

(Mankind takes the two sashes and ties them together.)

Mankind: HeeHee!

(Mankind begins to jump rope with the two tied sashes, splashing around in the sewer water, getting Rubican even dirtier! The Dream slinks down low, smiling evily.)

Phoenix: Well........it IS a start...
