RESULTS: Monday Night Raw Apr. 7, 1997

ROXANNE PRE-MATCH INTERVIEW

(Dok Hendriks, looking as tacky as ever, returns to the Interview Area. He looks excited, yet nervous.)

Dok: WWWWELLLL... HELLO, wrestling fans! Dancin' Dok Hendriks here. And I've got with me... the CHALLENGER for tonights Main Event, the #1 contender to the Women's World Title.... ROXANNE!

Roxanne comes in, dressed in a midnight blue, two piece wrestling outfit. Her hair is loose. Dok looks nervous!

Dok: HELLO, ROXANNE!

Roxanne: (slaps a high-five) HEY, Dok!

Dok: First thing Roxanne. This past weekend on WWF Superstars, we saw your bud, Corey Major defeat the Blizzard... but what happened AFTER the match was the kicker! Sunny FOLLOWED Corey and seemed to be making some kind of PASS at him! You were there... and didn't seem to happy about it!

Roxanne: Let me tell you something, Dok! It doesn't take a GENIUS to figure out that Sunny is just NO GOOD for Corey! If this isn't a set-up, then I don't know WHAT is! I'm not saying Corey is an idiot or anything like that. I'm just saying that the poor guy is being BLINDED by some baby-blues that are batted his way!

Dok: As WEEELLLLL as some OTHER things, too!

Roxanne: Let's not get into THAT!

Dok: But Roxanne, Corey is a big boy. He can take care of himself. He can make decisions for himself!

Roxanne: Corey and I grew up together in Akron, Ohio. He's an alright guy. But he just makes too quick of judgements. He goes running blindly into things without thinking. I like to think of myself as the level-headed one of the two. And I don't want to see Corey get hurt. And I think I can help him here.

Dok: Alright! Let's move on! Roxanne, you've let your leg heal to 100%. You came back... you've done everything you said you were going to do... INCLUDING the defeat you handed Womankind at WrestleMania IV. What do you say you're going to do tonight?

Roxanne: I'm going to give... 1000%!!! The FANS deserve it! The Rock-a-holics want to see me bring the gold home for the first time in my career. But Wild Chylde has her fans. Maybe you could call them the Wild CHILDREN! (Dok and Roxanne smile.) And they don't want to see HER lose it so quickly. Like I said on Superstars, the two of us have got a lot to offer the fans. We're not out there for the prestige or the glory. We don't take cheap shots, or beat up announcers, or stab people in the back. I don't want to go patting myself on the back here... but I think she and I make good role models for all of the female fans. And a lot of people forget... there are a LOT of female fans!

Dok: Roxanne... what's your prediction for the match!?

Roxanne: Dok... it's going to be a WRESTLING match... not a FIGHT, like everyone has grown accustomed to seeing! Wild Chylde DiBiase... MAY THE BETTER WRESTLER WIN!!!

Dok: Alright! Let's get some comments from the champion!!!

WILD CHYLDE DIBIASE PRE-MATCH COMMENTS

(Wild Chylde sits casually on the steps of the Fleet Center arena, signing autographs for a couple of little girls. She sends them on their way and looks at the camera, flipping her hair with one hand and picking up her belt with the other.)

Wild Chylde: Well, this is probably not the smartest career move I've ever made... but I want to live up to what this belt stands for. There's a lot of deserving women in this fed, but I'd have to say, personally, I think Roxanne is the most.

Wild Chylde: She deserves this shot. She and I have a history. Women's Royal Rumble, Roxanne... we cleaned house! And even if this is a one week reign, I can ssay I lost it to one of the best! And I can still claim to be a two time champ. Depending on the outcome of this match, I'll either set this gold on my mantle again, or I'll go for THREE times!

(She smiles and beckons to more fans for autographs.)
