JEFF JARRETT

Jim Ross: Ladies and gentlemen, will you please welcome my guest at this time . . . he is the Intercontinental Champion . . . he is "Double J" Jeff Jarrett!

(Double J's country theme begins to play, as Jarrett makes his way down the aisle towards the ring. Double J climbs up the steps and enters the ring, motioning for Jim Ross to step aisde so he can do his strut.)

Ross: Double J, on TNT this past week we saw you step in the ring against two men that you . . . or at least we THOUGHT that you hated! It was obvious from the outset that you and "The Blizzard" Adrien Blades had a plan to get rid of Bret Hart. Adrien Blades, need I remind you, who is a man that you have had SEVERAL problems with before. Double J, what is going on?

Double J: JR, I know what happened on TNT was unpopular, but let me run down the way things happened. First of all, don't make any mistakes about it. I am NO friend of The Blizzard! I know perfectly well what's gone down with him, and you can bet that I didn't forget. I hate him just as much as I'm sure he hates me! But see, JR . . . I hate Bret Hart MORE than I hate The Blizzard. So Blades comes up to ME, and he asks ME if I want to double team Bret Hart. So I figure . . . hey, here's two guys that I don't like, and one of them wants to help me take out the other! So I team with the Blizzard to get rid of Bret, and then I take The Blizzard out myself!

Ross: But it didn't go down like that, did it?

Double J: No, it didn't! Bret Hart turns out to be a hell of a lot tougher than I gave him credit for. After getting jumped by half the WWF before the match, he comes in and gets rid of the Blizzard after we've been double teaming him. Then it's just elementry, and I get him for the 1-2-3. Double J comes out the big winner . . . or so I thought!

Ross: So you thought?!?

Double J: That's right! I win the match, and I hear boos from the crowd! I've heard boos before, JR. They don't get you anywhere! If the people think that I'll turn on them in the blink of an eye just to win a match, then this . . .

(Jarrett pulls the IC belt off his waist.)

Double J: This doesn't mean anything!

(Jarrett drops the belt to the mat.)

Double J: As far as I'm concerned, Jim Ross, the fans of the WWF is who brought that belt here to Double J. Without them, I never would've won it! So if they don't trust me, then I can't hold my head high as champion. But these people know, just like you do, JR, that in the WWF just a handfull of things are certain. And one of those things is that Jeff Jarrett is a man that CAN be trusted! I have never sold out on anyone! I have never turned my back on anyone! I have never jumped my best friend from behind! And if I can't be trusted by the fans of the WWF, then I can't be the wrestler I have been as of late.

Jim Ross: What about the Horsemen interjection during the triangle match? Let me set up a bit of a senerio for you, if I may.

Double J: Go right ahead.

Jim Ross: You and The Blizzard make a deal to take down Bret Hart during the matchup. We know that for fact. Then, you call up the Horsemen, who are looking for anyone they can get! You get the Horsemen to come down and do a number on the Blizzard, and manipulating the Horsemen is something you HAVE done before! Not to mention, that the Horsemen also did a number on Bret before the match! Bret is down from the double teaming. The Blizzard is down from the Horsemen. Double J is left standing! That sounds like a Jeff Jarrett plot of old!

Double J: That's exactly right, JR. That does indeed sound like something I'd have done! But I'm telling you now, and I'm telling these people . . . I have NOTHING to do with the Horsemen! I've been down that road before, and I don't plan to travel it again. Anderson, Benoit . . . if you've got some problem with the Blizzard, that's your business. But if you're trying to get MY attention, then keep in mind that the attention of Double J is something a lot of people want . . . until they get it!

Jim Ross: All right, one last subject, if I may. What is going on with your secret admirer? Who is this person? Do you have any leads?

Double J: Jim Ross, of all the things you've asked me about here today, that one is the most confusing in my mind! I have NO idea who it might be, and I have no idea what their interest in me is! I just hope it ain't Luxury again! Ha Ha Ha!

Jim Ross: OK, thanks for coming out here this week. Any final remarks?

Double J: You know it, JR. Bret Hart, you got all the cause in the world to cry foul over what happened on TNT, what with all the attacks you took before the match! And if you DON'T do just that, and come out here cryin' about it, then you're a bigger man that I thought. But I assure you, JR, and I assure everyone here tonight that Bret Hart would have done the exact same thing that I did in teaming up with the Blizzard if Blades had contacted HIM instead of me! But that nonwithstanding, Bret, I wanted a decent win over you. I didn't plan on you getting jumped more times than I could count before the match started. So even though you've got a few things on your plate, like finding out why The Horsemen, Phoenix, Sting, etc. etc. are all coming after you, you've still got my challenge on your door! And Blizzard . . . now that we're "friends" again . . . Ha Ha Ha . . . do me a favor. Tell Sunny to quit calling me up! She's tying up the lines!

Jim Ross: Oh, come on! There's no need for that!

Double J: Ha Ha Ha! Blizzard, Bret . . . here's what I'm saying to you. I want to do it again! The triangle match! One more time!

Jim Ross: WHAT?!? You ALREADY won!

Double J: I know it, JR, but I don't like the cheap victory I got, and the fans down like how I fought the match. And since I doubt either of these two would do anything without incentive, I happen to have some. Bret, if you agree to do it one more time and you win, you can focus on everyone ELSE that's after you, and you won't have to worry about me anymore. Blizzard, if we do it again and you win . . . I'll give you the title shot you've been wanting. There it is! Take it or leave it. One more time, boys! Double J is callin' you out! So long, folks!

(Jarrett picks the IC title belt up off the mat, and then climbs up to the 2nd turnbuckle, looking at the crowd and listening to them. The fans give him a good ovation! Jarrett jumps down and climbs out of the ring, slapping the gloved hands as he makes his way back to the dressing room.)
