RESULTS: Monday Night Raw Apr. 21, 1997

AHMED JOHNSON

Sarah D: Well, I hear from the video truck that we have the WCW World Heavyweight Championship Title bout from last night's Spring Stampede. You know, I really do like Ahmed Johnson. He REALLY is a class act.

SPRING STAMPEDE FOOTAGE
TAPED SUNDAY APRIL 20, 1997

The scene opens to show Terry Shavonte, Bobby Heenan and the American Dream Dusty Rhodes getting ready for the main event.

Shavonte: Ladies and Gentlemen, this truely is a big night for Ahmed Johnson. His arch nemesis Faarooq Assaad has pestured and beaten Ahmed for the past 7 weeks and it's all snowballed into what we are seeing right now.

Heenan: Ahmed has really got to concentrate tonight. Faarooq Assaad has not only bad mouthed the champion and beaten him with bull whips and his own 2-x-4 but he's been defeating him mentally. BIG challenge for the champ tonight!

Shavonte: Well, it's time to get down to ring announcer David Penzer to open up the main event of tonight's card!

David Penzer introduces Faarooq Assaad as he makes his way down the aisle, looking focused. THEN, the crowd LIGHTS up as the champion Ahmed Johnson bursts through the curtains followed by the Hart Foundation and his WCW ally, Johnny B. Badd. The four stop half way out in the middle of the aisle and all of a sudden...A HUGE BLOW HORN IS HEARD! It's Big Daddy Cool, Diesel! He struts his way down the aisle with his Championship belt tossed over his shoulder. He meets Ahmed Johnson and the two slap hands and the Hart Foundation slap hands with him as well. Ahmed then SPRINTS to the ring and slides below the bottom rope! Faarooq slides through the opposite rope and away from Ahmed where he's quickly met by BIG DADDY COOL AND THE HART FOUNDATION!

Shavonte: The pure intimidation from our friends from WWF are forcing Faarooq into the ring!

Heenan: Wouldn't you want to run from that mammoth of a man and one of the most talented tag teams in the world today along with the Road Warriors and our own Godwinns?

Shavonte: Well, the way Ahmed feels about Faarooq, that's really probably up in the air at this point.

Back to the action, Ahmed starts off at a rapid pace as he pounds Faarooq into the mat with left and right blows to the face. He lifts Faarooq up by the hair and then Irish Whips him into ropes. Faarooq is met by a SIDEKICK and then pounded down to the mat with a Scissor Kick! WHAT DIVERSITY! He lifts Faarooq up...AND FAAROOQ GETS A THUMB TO THE EYES OF AHMED! He grinds it into the socket of the champ which staggers him badly. Ahmed, temporarily blinded by the maneuver, swings wildly, hoping to conect with Faarooq. Faarooq comes in low and Football Tackles him to the ground! He begisn to deliver hard lefts and rights and then HEAD BUTTS HIM! He then tosses Ahmed into the turnbuckles..Ahmed staggers back..BACK BODY DROP BY FAAROOQ! Faarooq viciously whales on the head of Ahmed Johnson! HE WON'T STOP! Ahmed finally swats his foot away and manages to get to his feet. The two begin to trade shots but Faarooq gets a hand up to block and gets the tide rolling in his favor again.

Faarooq grabs his arm..SHORT ARM CLOHTESLINE! He picks him up and delivers a body slam to the champion and then leaps over him to the opposite ropes. Faarooq comes off the ropes..LEG DROP! All that weight coming down on Ahmed's head! Faarooq picks him up and Irish Whips him into the ropes...SLEEPER! He's really got it on tight! Nick Patrick moves in to check the situation. He lifts Ahmed's hand...1!

Diesel and the Hart Foundation shout in words of encouragement as Johnny B. Badd paces around frantically. Patrick raises his hand again...2! One last time, he raises Ahmed's hand...STOPS HALF WAY! Ahmed's hand stops half way! He begins to Hulk up as Faarooq gets nervous. BIG ELBOW into the side of Assaad! ANOTHER...and ANOTHER! Ahmed grabs his head...AND DELIVERS A BIG HEAD BUTT..SENDING HIM TO THE MAT! Ahmed picks him up and heaves him into the near ropes...SPINEBUSTER!!! Ahmed throws him into the other ropes...SPINEBUSTER!!!! Faarooq is almost out! AHMED CALLS FOR THE PEARL RIVER PLUNGE!

He hooks the arms...AND DELIVERS! Ahmed, so tired, falls onto the unconcious body of Faarooq.

Shavonte: Why is Johnny B. Badd climbing up the top rope?

Johnny B. Badd LEAPS as Patrick begins to count?!? HE HITS THE WILD THING ON JOHNSON! Diesel and the Hart Foundation don't realize what's going on! PATRICK CALLS FOR THE BELL! The Hart Foundation and Diesel rush into the ring sending Johnny B. Badd out the opposite ropes. AHMED'S UNCONCIOUS! Paramedics are rushed down the aisle for both Johnson and Assad! B. Badd grabs up a mic.

Badd: Ahmed Johnson, I have supported you throughout your stay here in WCW! I was the number one contender for the belt but I haven't got the shot BECAUSE OF YOU! You have messed EVERYTHING UP! THAT BELT SHOULD BE MINE! And it will be next month after WCW Slamboree because I have in my hand a contract signed by Ted DiBiase for a champioinship match and there's no way you could beat me!! Ah-hahha!

The Hart Foundation and Diesel look out towards him in disgust! They follow Ahmed to the ambulance where they are driven away by the paramedics.

JR: He seems to have picked up right where the Wildman Marc Mero left off in the WWF!
