WWF Superstars, May 31, 1997WWF Superstars, May 31, 1997THRE--NO!!! KICKOUT!!! Bret rolls back out of the move... and both wrestlers get to their feet. Austin hits a HIPLOCK TAKEOVER!!! He holds the arm and brings the Hitman down on his knees with an ARMBAR!!!
Bret spins around on the mat by his one arm. He spins to the right... the left... then right... and comes up to his feet!!! He reaches down between his legs and grabs Austin's foot... and pulls him OFF HIS FEET!!!
Bret turns around... puts his leg in between Austin's... wraps them around.... SHARPSHOOTER!!! THE FANS GO CRAZY!!!!
JR: IT'S DEAFENING IN HERE!!!
Sarah: How did Bret do THAT!!!???
JR: He IS the Excellence of Execution!!!
Austin's knuckles go white... he digs in.... PUSHES WITH PAIN ON HIS FACE..... AND KICKS THE HITMAN OFF!!!
Heart Attack: HE BROKE THE SHARPSHOOTER!!!
JR: HE DID!! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!
Bret is face down on the mat and Austin gets up. He grabs one of Bret's legs... but the Hitman grabs the ropes... and pulls toward them... slipping out to the outside to catch his breath. Roxanne moves over to offer him encouragement. Sabrina, Lucifer and Pillman watch from a safe distance.
Austin holds the ropes open for Bret... but Bundy forces him back... then starts his count. Bret walks around, catching his breath. He sees Austin look away for a second, then he dives back in on the count of seven... and shoots for the leg...
Austin leaps up over Bret and avoids the trip... and pulls the Hitman up into an abdominal stretch. Bret HIPTOSSES Austin over... but Stone Cold hangs on to his arm... and flips BRET over!!! They mat-wrestle a bit... and Austin comes up with... A STEP OVER TOE HOLD!!!
Bret strains for the ropes... but can't reach them. Austin pulls up the Hitman's other leg... and sits back with a BOSTON CRAB!!!! Now it's the Hitman with white knuckles, pushing back with all his strength. He starts to rise up.... Austin can't sit back....
BRET KICKS HIM OFF!!! Austin hits the ropes and bounces back.... Hart starts to get up... Stone Cold... BULLDOGS HIM!!!
JR: I THINK HE BUSTED HIM OPEN WITH THAT!!!
Heart Attack: Oh NO!!! HE DID!!!!
Austin turns Bret over by his legs... and starts to hook on.... THE SHARPSHOOTER!!! He steps through... folds the legs.... AND SITS BACK!!! IT'S ON!!!!! The Anvil hobbles up to the ring apron with his crutches... yelling.....
Anvil: BUNDY!!! BUNDY!!! PILLMAN'S GONNA JUMP IN!!!
Bundy turns around to admonish Pillman... who ISN'T trying to come in!!! The Anvil laughs.... slides into the ring with his crutch.... AND NAILS an unsuspecting Austin on the back of the head... NEARLY KNOCKING HIM OUT!!!
The Anvil dives back out of the ring just before the ref turns back around by Sabrina's urgings. Bundy sees BOTH men down... and starts a ten count!!!!
Roxanne moves over questioningly toward the Anvil who laughs maniacally!!! Roxanne doesn't seem to happy. Sabrina and Pillman slap high-fives, laughing. Graves continues his vigil.
The referee hits 3.... 4.... 5.... Austin sits up. He gets up and looks out at Anvil and points to the crutches... then at his head. He looks at the referee and starts complaining. Bundy shoves him back and tells him to wrestle. Austin turns angrily toward the Hitman... yanks him up.... STONE COLD STUNNER!!!!
JR: HE'S OUT!!! THE HITMAN... IS OUT COLD... FROM STONE COLD!!!
Sarah: He might be HURT!!! Did you SEE the way his neck snapped!?
Bundy drops down to make the count... but Austin gets up, shaking his head. He turns Bret over... AND PUTS BACK ON THE SHARPSHOOTER. The Anvil moves in toward the apron again... but Roxanne steps in front, shaking her head.
Austin: ASK HIS SORRY ASS!!! ASK HIM WHO THE BEST IS!!
Bundy moves around to Bret's face... but the Hitman has LONG since lost conciousness!!!
Bundy: HE'S OUT!!! RING THE BELL!!!
The bell sounds. Austin slams Bret's legs down in disgust, then turns around and flips him off. Austin stands up on the second rope as his music plays. He glares at the fans... then flips them off, too. Austin then climbs from the ring and takes a high-five from Pillman, then Sabrina and her crew walk out.
The Anvil and Roxanne help up the Hitman... and help him to the back. The Anvil seems quite ticked off.
JR: What a HELLUVA match! It was so intense... so PHYSICAL!
Sarah: That's a match to think about for the Slammy's!
Heart Attack: I can't BELIEVE it!
Sarah: Well... we have something up next. Let's go to it now!
