RESULTS: Monday Night Raw May 5, 1997

Bret releases the pressure on Sting's leg... then stomps down on to it. Sting kicks up with his good leg... pushing Bret back. Sting leaps at Bret....

...and catches a punch in the jaw! Sting falls foward into Bret's grasp.... and into a VERTICAL SUPLEX!! The Hitman rolls up on top of Sting and begins axehandling him in the leg.

Sting rolls away from Bret, pulling his leg in towards him. Bret comes at him and pulls him to his feet. Sting grabs the Hitman first... and drops him down across his leg.

JR: Sting's also focused on the back through this match! What a wise move!

Sting slaps on a standing side headlock, and lets out a big breath, trying to regain his control. But Bret has none of it... wrenching his arms around Sting's waist... into a BELLY TO BACK SUPLEX!!! The Hitman rolls back to his feet.... Sting starts to get up...

Bret hits a swinging NECKBREAKER!!! Bret backs up to the ropes... and runs at Sting... DROPKICK... NO!! Sting catches Bret's legs... and let's him fall. He then turns him over..... and wraps him in... THE SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!!!

JR: IT'S ON!! THE SCORPION DEATH LOCK IS ON!! THE REFEREE'S IN POSITION!!!!

Sting leans back far... and Bret is clearly shaking his head.. NO!!! NO!!!!! Bret's knuckles go white as he tries to push up from the Death lock. Sting leans back harder... and Bret shakes his head.....

NO!!! He doesn't submit! The referee shows the 'negative' sign to the time keeper! Bret pushes down with both hands, raising himself up from the mat. He then tucks his chin... and rolls THROUGH the DEATH LOCK!! THE FANS GO CRAZY!!!

JR: BRET JUST COUNTERED THE SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! HE GOT OUT OF IT!!!

Sting tries to slap it back on... but Bret fights it! Sting backs away after catching a punch in the head. Bret stands up... and ATOMIC DROPS Sting!!! He then throws an axehandle that knocks Sting to the mat.

Bret throws himself on Sting, who gets his leg in and kicks the Hitman back! Sting runs at Bret... DROPKICK TO THE MAT!!! Sting grabs the Hitman's legs..... and puts him in... THE SCORPION DEATH LOCK AGAIN!!

JR: Can the Hitman get out again? HE DID IT ALREADY!

Sarah: The PAIN he must be going through!!!

Heart Attack: Glad I'M not in a match like this!

The referee gets down and checks on the Hitman. He says... NO! He shakes his head NO! Sting leans back as hard as he can! But Bret STILL says NO! The ref shrugs! The fans are going CRAZY!!!

JR: I don't know how much more the Hitman can take!

Sarah: He won't give UP!

JR: THERE'S SO MUCH ON THE LINE!!! It's MORE then just the King of the Ring!

Sting keeps it on! He doesn't release it... he just leans back, yelling out! The Hitman fights it... pushing up... but he... can't! The referee asks... and the Hitman can only shake his head NO! He starts to slow down. The ref raises his arm.... and it drops slowly.

He raises it again.... and it drops. He raises it a third time... and it drops HARD! The referee checks on Bret.... he's.... OUT!!!! Bret Hart is OUT!!!! The ref stands up and calls for the bell!!!!

JR: MY GOSH!!! STING BEAT THE HITMAN!!! AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.... HE FINALLY DID IT!!!!

Sarah: I can't BELIEVE IT!!!

Sting let's out a loud HOWWWWWLLLLLL to the crowd, then turns and leaves. The Anvil helps up the Hitman, who is out from the pain.

JR: That was a HELLUVA fight! These fans just saw a phenomenol match! Bret Hart and Sting! WOW!

Winner, by knock-out: Sting

JR: Folks, this has... LOOK OUT!! IT'S THE BLACK JACKS!!!

Windham and Bradshaw come charging down toward the ring...but Hawk and Animal see them and run at them with their nightsticks!!! Hawk dives at Justin and catches him partly on the back with a shot from the iron nightstick! Windham turn and ducks under a wild swing from Animal!!!

JR: TOMORROW NIGHT... ON TNT.... THE ROAD WARRIORS... AGAINST THE BLACKJACKS!!!! THE TEAM THAT MAY HAVE COST THEM THE TAG TITLES!!!!

Sarah: NO DISQUALIFICATIONS!

The Blackjacks are driven back from the ringside area by the Road Warriors as the final credits of Monday Night Raw roll!

JR: GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!!!!!!
