RESULTS: Monday Night Raw June 23, 1997

BRIAN PILLMAN PRE-MATCH INTERVIEW

Dok Hendriks is in the Raw-buttal area. Standing next to him is Sabrina Savage... and then Brian Pillman, who has the WWF World Title Belt slung over his shoulder.

Dok: Wrestling fans... Handsome Dok Hendriks here... along with 1996 Manager of the Year, Sabrina Savage... and the current WWF World Champion, Brian Pillman.

Pillman: There's your FIRST mistake, Hendriks. I am NOT the World Champion. As long as I hold this title belt... I am the WORLD F'N CHAMPION!!! The ring announcer will say it like that... and YOU will say it like that.

Dok: I stand corrected!

Pillman: We corrected THAT. But it would take a LOT of work to get YOU to 'stand corrected'! hahaha.

Dok: Sabrina, tonight... it's the Giant who will be challenging Brian for the World... F'N .... title. You and Terry Taylor seem to have some kind of business relationship. But nothing has ever been made public. Could you explain your relationship with Taylor Tech.

Sabrina: I've said it many times. Taylor and I respect each other. We bounce ideas off each other sometimes, too.

Dok: And will that relationship be in any danger with tonight's bout?

Sabrina: No way, Dok. I'm a smart business woman and Taylor is a smart business man.

Dok: Mr. Pillman.... what do you think your chances are against a man like the Giant?

Pillman: The Giant is a big dude. And he's my friend. But that won't stop us from having an all-out, blood-thirsty WAR inside the squared circle. He wants the World F'N title as much as I want to keep it! But just like against Vader, my chances are VERY good. I am the LEADER of the New Revolution! I have the speed, endurance and agility to out-last ANYBODY here in the WWF. Over the months since I've been here in the WWF, I've been the brunt of many pratcial jokes and pranks. But now... all of the comedians will be groveling at my feet, looking up at their ruler, begging for a chance to step into the ring and receive their chance at glory. And now... as I am the WORLD F'N CHAMPION... it is my god-given right... to embarass... humiliate... torture.... and ultimately DESTROY whoever is in my way.

Dok: What about your injuries?

Pillman: Practically with only ONE LEG did I win the Four Sided match on Raw. I used Derrick Stardom to eliminate Psycho Sid... then he was easy pickings for me.... an athlete of MY caliber. So, Hendriks... even at HALF-STRENGTH, I've bested the toughtest wrestlers the WWF has ever SEEN! It's only been EIGHT DAYS as champion for me.... but very soon, I'll be saying... EIGHT WEEKS.... THEN EIGHT MONTHS....

Pillman looks around, with a wild and demented look in his eyes.

Dok: Sabrina, any final words before I let you get down to the ring.

Sabrina: The Giant's terricic. But it's gonna be a case of David and Goliath!

Dok: Alright! It's time... the MAIN EVENT! For the World Title!!!

Pillman: (walking off) The World F'N Title!

Dok: (looks away, then back to the camera) I stand... well....CORRECTED!

JR: Brian's FIRST title defense! Will it be his LAST? Let's head up to the ring... for THE MAIN EVENT!!!
