STARR BLAZE

The camera picks up an excited looking Dok Hendriks as he enters one of the training gyms in the back of the arena...

Dok: Hello wrestling fans! Dok Hendriks here, and after what we all saw on Tuesday Night Titans, I just had to get another spot with this young lady! I heard she was working out in here, so...

He stops and looks around the apparently empty room, confused...

Dok: Miss Blaze? Colonel Blaze, are you in here? Hello?

Suddenly Blaze swings into the frame behind him, hanging upside down.

Starr: What's the good word, Citizen?

Dok JUMPS.

Dok: AGH! Don't DO that!!

Starr: Sorry...

Starr drops down to land on her feet next to Dok, and the camera pans out slightly to show the parallel bars she was hanging from. Dok recovers enough to continue.

Dok: Miss Blaze... last Tuesday night we saw you striking your first salvo in the war against ringside crime you declared. I know *I* was happy to see that outside interference called to account for once! Your comments?

Starr: Dok, it's like I said on Citizen Beefcake's show... there are certain rules that have to be played by and standards that have to be upheld. Now surprisingly enough in the match prior there wasn't any outside interference... Tech's team lost, but they gave a good reckoning of themselves. They might even have won if Citizen Page hadn't let his ego get the best of him at the critical moment. There were certainly still a few very questionable tactics used, but I think it points out that the wrestlers currently on Citizen Taylor's payroll have the potential to win on their own merits if they just tried...

Dok: But it looked like Luxu... err, Miss Helmsley's patience ran out with the battle of the Machine and Diesel after that! I heard you and she exchanged some heated words earlier in the week... were you watching for her specifically that night?

Starr: Actually no... I was expecting a much bigger Tech turnout... after what happened to Citizen Jobo I thought they might come out in force to try to cripple Mr. Diesel before he faced the Giant at King of the Ring! So just in case I was watching and waiting for any illegal help from the outside. Miss Helmsley, well, you just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time, doing the wrong things!

Dok: One thing... we all saw you having to use your batons in the end to turn the tide... wasn't that a potentially lethal thing to do?

Starr: Nossir Mr. Hendriks, although I understand your concern, belive me! That was the low setting, designed to stun an opponent without any chance of permanent harm. Even so I didn't want to have to resort to that... but when I found myself mere seconds away from being slammed down face first it had to be done. I can't count on any of Taylor Tech's members to show mercy on a downed opponent, so it was better not to be downed.. but the most important thing is that I gave Citizen Diesel time to recover from that insidious surprise attack and pull off the win, fair and square!

Dok: An outcome that must really be sticking in Taylor Tech's craw! You had some strong words for them on the Barber Shop, and now some strong actions backing them up!

Starr: Exactly... Taylor Tech has made a lot of enemies in the Federation. Now those of us who don't like what's been going on aren't exactly organized, but I consider that an advantage. Y'see, Tech is to me a mix of the worst elements of Communism and Capitalism, where those ideologies are used as nothing but a cover for oppressive, brutal thugs to attempt to sieze power and stomp down those who oppose them. It's like a government gone mad... and what you'll see, Citizen Hendriks, is individuals and small bands of freedom fighters in the next months, working to take down the despotism. You in the 20th Century would label it "Guerilla Warfare", I think. Everyone has been having to watch their backs against Tech... well, it's time Tech better start watching their backs as well, because we're NOT gonna take it anymore!

Dok: Well I certainly can't see President Piper disagreeing with you! Did he approach you about taking a stand?

Starr: I can't comment there, I'm afraid.

Dok: What's next for you, Colonel?

Starr: Well, currently HIL and I are hard at work attemtping to crack the C/M cipher...

Dok: The what?

Starr: The C/M cipher... short for Chico/Mang... y'see, Citizen Hall uses those two words so often we figure it must be some sort of code - secret messages to his cronies in Taylor Tech. If we can just decipher it we'll know the enemy's plans!

Dok: Erm, but Miss Blaze... Mr. Hall ALWAYS talked like that, even BEFORE he hooked up with Taylor Tech!

Starr: He DID?! Oh... umm. Well, I suppose that was a waste of time, then. Nevermind...

Dok: Oh, hey! I hear tell there's a Starr Blaze animated series in the works... and a COMIC BOOK! Any comments on that?

Starr grins

Starr: Yes, Citizen Hendriks, I've been in negotiations with some of your media and I'm happy to say those are pretty much go!

Dok: Pardon my asking, but... how does this relate to your mission? And aren't you going to be revealing details of the future by doing this?

Starr: Not really... y'see, all they are taking are the basic ideas, and then the writers have come up with their own vision of the 2297 universe to display. I can't say how accurate it is, but it'll certainly be exciting in its own right!

Starr: And as far as the mission goes, well... the more people I reach with my message of living clean and fighting for what's right, the better! Young people, especially the little girls out there, need to know it's okay to fight for what you believe in... to speak out against those who victimize others and work to make the world a better place. That's the true American Dream, no matter what that leather-faced freakshow tries to spew out as her twisted version of the truth!

Dok: Are you talking about The Dream?

Starr: Straight solar I am, Citizen! I've heard she has some line of space debris that evil is present in everyone and should be embraced. Well, nuts to that! This is one Ranger that doesn't have an evil bone in her body and never will... and all the decent people of Earth out there can rest easy that evil and selfishness is NOT the natural state of humanity. It's just a case of one woman trying to justify her personally despicable behavior. Pathetic and disgusting...

Dok: Any comments on your possibly upcoming match with Lady Tyr?

Starr: Looking forward to it, Mr. Hendriks... hopefully no one will interfere and we'll see a clean, exciting contest!

Dok: A rarity these days! But we're all pulling for you Miss Blaze... good luck! Back to you at ringside...
