RESULTS: Monday Night Raw June 9, 1997

The Giant backs up to the ropes. Terry Taylor gets up on the apron.. the ref is tied up with Todd still. Terry grabs Bret's legs and pulls them over the ropes, yanking on the Hitman's neck!

JR: REFEREE... TURN AROUND!!!

The Warrior and Brutus MOVE IN!!! The Warrior punches the leg out from under Taylor, dropping him down off the apron! Brutus raises up his sheers... and drives the blunt end on top of Taylor.. KNOCKING HIM DOWN... MAYBE OUT!!

The place is going CRAZY!!! The Anvil chases Todd away, who goes running over to Taylor!

JR: The Mega Powers have Taylor Tech ON THE RUN!

Bret kicks down on the ropes... and flips up and OVER the Giant back into the ring! Bret reaches out and grabs the Giant's arm... and WRINGS it as hard as he can! HE TORQUES on it... and the Giant...DROPS TO HIS KNEES!!!

Sarah: He's going down! Bret's doing it!

Bret twists again....driving the arm into the shoulder socket..... and the Giant... SLUMPS DOWN TO THE MAT!!!! Bret holds the armwringer... feeling the Giant fight back. The Giant... starts to come back up again!!!!

Terry, Todd and the Machine regroup at ringside. The Mega Powers look at them, warning them to stay OUT of it! The fans start stomping their feet!

The Giant makes it back up to his knees. Bret releases the armwringer... and switches to... A SLEEPER!!! He twists it on... and the Giant starts FADING AGAIN!!!

JR: This move.... the sleeper! Bret used this to beat Sid Vicious at the King of the Ring in 1995 to move on to the FINALS! If the Sharpshooter is his BIG move, this is a close second!

Bret... TAKES THE GIANT ALL THE WAY DOWN!! THE FANS ARE BALLISTIC!!! Bret lets go of the sleeper, and goes to work on the leg again! He HAMSTRING PULLS it! Then he ELBOW drops it!!! Bret stands over the fallen Giant... AND STOMPS IT!!!

But the Giant starts to get up again! Bret moves back... then dives in... FOREARM SMASH to the Giant's head! But he KEEPS COMING!! Bret stands over him, getting frustrated! He starts ELBOW SMASHING THE GIANT... OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! And the Giant starts going down again!!

Bret holds on to both of the Giant's legs.... seperates them... and HEADBUTTS the lower abdomen!!! He comes up with the legs again... and GOES FOR THE SHARPSHOOTER!! He starts to wrap it on... but he CAN'T! The Giant pushes him off!

JR: I don't think he can do it! The Giant's legs are TOO BIG!

Before Bret can come back in... the Giant is up on his feet! Bret leaps up at the Giant... who CATCHES HIM! He walks to the corner and PLOPS Bret down on the top rope... then backs up to the second.

JR: HE'S GONNA RAZOR'S EDGE HIM!!

Sarah: If he hits... IT'S OVER! The Giant is DEVASTATING up there!

The Giant tries to hook the Hitman's arms... but can't! Bret pulls away... holds on to the turnbuckle... and FLIPS DOWN OUT OF THE RING!!

JR: What a SMART move!

The Giant ROARS out at Bret to get back in. The Hitman walks around the corner of the ring, catching his breath... then he slides in... RIGHT AT THE GIANT'S GOOD LEG!! He lifts it up, presses his head into the Giant's thigh....AND TAKES THE BIG MAN DOWN!!! THE WHOLE RING SHAKES!!!

Bret kneels up... and AXEHANDLES the Giant's bad leg. The Giant tries to kick the Hitman with his good leg... but cannot get an angle. Bret stands... and ELBOWDROPS the Giant's leg. Then he stands up with both legs again and looks around....

JR: He wants the SHARPSHOOTER!

Sarah: He tried once.... and FAILED!

JR: This could be a mistake!

Bret steps through.... crosses the legs.... and starts to TURN! The Giant fights it....nearly 500 pounds against the Hitman! Taylor Tech looks ready... but the Mega Powers take up positions at ringside!

Bret strains... the look on his face, telling the tale! The Giant yells out, trying to surge his power! Bret's face is of pure determination. AND HE DOES IT!! THE SHARPSHOOTER IS ON!!!! THE FANS ARE CHEERING!!!

The Giant already is shaking his head... YES! YES! YES!! The ref calls for the bell!!!! And Bret releases!!!

JR: HE DID IT!!! WITH THE SHARPSHOOTER!!!

Fireworks go off over the ring! The Hart Foundation's music starts to play as the Anvil rolls into the ring and high fives Bret... then gives him a noogie! Brutus, the Warrior and Bobby get in and celebrate with them.

JR: It was not only a victory for the Hitman... an IMPORTANT one...but a victory for the Mega Powers over the Taylor Tech!

The closing credits begin to play as the celebration continues!

JR: We'll see you tomorrow for TUESDAY NIGHT TITANS! GOOD NIGHT!!
