RESULTS: Monday Night Raw June 9, 1997

JESSE VENTURA REPORTING

Jesse Ventura is standing in front of the now familiar door to the Road Warriors' hospital room. He is looking more happy than he has in his past reports.

Jesse: We are here in the hospital checking in on Hawk's and Animal's progress. Let's hope all is going well.

He pushes the door open and goes into the room. The walls are covered with signs and hand-drawn pictures all bearing get well phrases or one kind or another. The Road Warriors lie on the beds a usual. Dr. Mesmer is leaning over Hawk while writing on a clip board. He turns towards Jesse.

Dr. Mesmer: Greetings, Mr.Ventura.

Jesse: Hello, Doc. What's up? (Jesse laughs)

Dr.Mesmer: (Smiling) Well Animal is coming along nicely. His lungs are getting stronger. We will be taking him off the respirator soon.

Jesse: That's great!! How is Hawk?

Dr.Mesmer: The MRI proved to be inconclusive. We will have to try something else. In any case he is in great shape physically, so all is looking well. It might just be a matter of time. I read fan letters to them during my lunch breaks. They seem to have quite a following.

Jesse: Well, if anyone can beat this thing, Hawk can do it!! Thanks a lot Doctor. I'll be back. This is Jesse Ventura singing off.

JIM ROSS INTERIVEWS..... ROXANNE

Jim Ross is up in the ring with a mic.

JR: Ladies and gentlemen... please welcome... the WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPION.... ROXANNE!!!

'Iron Man' by Black Sabbath starts to play! The fans all stand up, confused for a moment. Roxanne steps through the curtains, dressed in red-spiked shoulderpads and face paint like Hawk. She's holding the women's belt in her hand. The fans start going CRAZY!

Roxanne slaps hands as she comes down to the ring, then she slides in.

JR: Roxanne! Look at THIS!

Roxanne: No... it's not an image change, JR. I wore this back on March 1st at the Countdown to WrestleMania in the Mixed Six tag match. I'm wearing this as a reminder... to not only MYSELF... not only the MILLIONS OF ROCK-A-HOLICS....who DOUBLE as LEGION OF DOOMERS....but also to remind Hawk and Animal that they HAVE done good before, and they CAN pull through their ordeals and return to the WWF.... BECAUSE WE WANT THEM BACK!!!

Roxanne holds up her arms in the ring as she speaks, getting a POP from the fans!

JR: You heard what the Doctor said. Hawk mentioned... SHADOW!

Roxanne: Yes he did, JR. What the Blackjacks did... was WRONG! But I don't have to tell you that. Many people want to step up and take down the Blackjacks for what they did. But this is the ROAD WARRIORS fight. We're all backing them up... and showing them the way. But their desire to rescue their manager will be one of the things that brings them through this! THEY WILL GET SHADOW BACK!!!!

The fans again cheer! Roxanne removes the shoulderpads and puts them down on the canvas.

JR: Alright Roxanne. Great match on WWF Superstars. What about it?

Roxanne: Heart Attack was my toughest match to DATE! I don't know if I helped her to focus or she did it on her own... but she WAS focused and nearly became the World Champion! HEART ATTACK... I know you're at home, watching this.... DON'T STOP NOW! KEEP IT UP! You may have been the FIRST female wrestler in the WWF... but you have YET to hit your prime!

JR: This Sunday.... THE KING OF THE RING! Roxanne, it's you and Womankind... in a STRETCHER MATCH!

Roxanne: I don't know WHAT Womankind's problem is. I finished her off at WrestleMania... and I was THROUGH with her. But she went and threatened my Rock-a-holics.... and I will NOT sit idly by and watch that happen. WOMANKIND....at the King of the Ring... you WILL be CROWNED in the HEADBANGER... and carried out on the stretcher! And I'm doing it NOT for these demons you speak of.... NOT because I want to beat you or hurt you... but because YOU hurt my Rock-a-holics.... and they want PAYBACK!!!!!

The fans ERUPT! Roxanne! Roxanne! Roxanne!

JR: What about Susannah Helmsley? And Gold-Dust? And Wild Chylde DiBiase... the #1 contender? They're all coming for you!

Roxanne: But I can count on Wild Chylde to NOT try to sneak attack me! Helmsley is trying to get attention. And through that... a title shot! FORGET IT! She's going to have to PULL a ranking first. I'm taking on ONLY the top names in our sport. And I will NOT tarnish this good titles legacy by defending it against BACK-STABBING, BACK-JUMPING, COAT-TAIL RIDING SNOBS like Helmsley!!!

JR: And what about Gold-Dust? She is ranked #5!

Roxanne: And the contract is in Piper's office! Gold-Dust... you want a title shot... you GOT IT! JR, there's a difference between the gold I'm carrying...(holds up the title) ... and the gold in her name. We all know that gold is a SOFT metal. But the gold belt has solidified into THE most prestigious title in our sport! It's spirit and power CANNOT BE BROKEN! But YOU... little SOFT Gold-Dust... CAN!

The fans cheer loudly! JR has to strain his voice to be heard...

JR: ANY FINAL COMMENTS ROXANNE!!!

Roxanne: PLENTY! I know how Bret Hart feels! To coin a phrase... my PLATE is full! But JR.... that's good news. Because even though I'm the CHAMP... I'm STILL hungry! Let's leave with THIS, since it's up NEXT! WOMANKIND! I proved it at WrestleMania... I told you when you came BACK... and at King of the Ring, I'll show the WORLD again! You are a HAS-BEEN... stuck in a place... THAT DOESN'T WANT YOU! You've gone through a LOT of changes in your time. But now, the TIMES have changed, and left you behind! At King of the Ring, I'll bring you up to speed.... then push you out the CAR DOOR...AND ROCK YOUR WORLD!!!!

'For Those About to Rock' by AC/DC begins to play! Fireworks pop over the ring, as Jim Ross climbs out, leaving Roxanne alone to pose and play up to the fans! They are DEAFENING!!!
