RESULTS: Monday Night Raw July 21, 1997

BOOKER T. PRE-MATCH COMMENTS

Booker T is standing with Slick in the interview area. Booker and Slick are both dressed in white. Booker has on his shades and his tights have flames running up the sides. He has on armbands that run the length of his forearms that match. Slick has on a white hat and holds his cane. He swings his body as he and Booker talk, as if hearing some music that no one else can.

Slick: Bruthah Booker... it was not long ago... that you entered the squared circle... and took your skills to your opponent... you took the 1-2-3 Kid ... to the LIMIT! But an outside source cost you the bout... a man that is beyond repair in his mind... a victim of a misunderstanding has caused YOU... to be a victim as well.

Booker: Tha's RIGHT man. Slick... you right! It was Stevie Ray. Stevie, man, y'all want me ta leave the WWF... but it ain't HAPPENIN' man! Y'all can't win yo OWN matches 'cause you thinkin' about me, man. But I'm here... and I ain't goin' NO WHERE! I'ma go out there... and I'ma take care of Raven. I'ma clip his WINGS... and then Stevie... we gonna meet.

Slick: In-DEED! Soon, you and he will get in the ring... and you will settle your differences THERE... not in the back street... or in the locker rooms... but where it SHOULD be handled.

Booker: Maybe at SUMMERSLAM, Stevie. Tha's where we DEBUTED inna WWF last year... an' now it's time to return, and find out. We gonna be bruthas again... or you gonna keep us apart man? At Summerslam... we gotta KNOW!

Slick: Booker... it is now time. Raven, Booker T. is on his way to the ring. Be prepared... and good luck to you... for you WILL need it! PEACE!

The Match:
'Come Out and Play' by the Offspring starts up as Raven walks out with Zeus and Valetia Von Strahden behind him. He walks around the ring and picks up a chair and then steps into the ring and slumps down in the turnbuckle waiting for the match to begin.

John Pinnette, the senior referee, assigned to this bout, attempts to wrest the chair away from Raven, who does not give it up.

The lights dim down and 'Turn This Mutha Out' begins to play. Lights hit the runway to make it seem like fire is dancing down to the ring. Then, red fireworks burst over head and Slick leads Booker T. out. They stop at the top of the runway and high-five each other before continuing down to the ring.

Slick dances around ringside as Booker climbs up into the ring. White-hot fireworks burst up from the ringposts and the fans cheer Booker, who holds his arms up in the air.

Raven hands the steel chair out to Zeus and then the referee calls for the bell.

Booker starts with a KARATE CHOP! Raven takes a step back from Booker... then is caught in the face with a BIG BOOT! Raven goes down but knocks Booker off balance and takes him down too.

Booker quickly recovers, coming up with a karate punch that stuns his opponent, long enough for a scoop... and a SLAM!!

Slick: That's IT, Booker! Now keep on him, my brutha!

But Booker's eyes catch the runway... WHERE STEVIE RAY COMES OUT! Stevie laughs up in the ring, mocking Booker. Slick's top lip tightens in anger at Stevie, then he pounds the mat with his cane, attempting to get Booker into the match.

JR: Stevie has no RIGHT to come out here!

Pillman: SURE he does! They just challenged him to a Summerslam match! Your damn right he should be down here. Y'know... they ARE brothers!

JR: Well, they don't ACT like it!

Booker gets angry at Stevie's laughing and taunting, so he tries to show off. He climbs up in the corner to the top... and waits for Raven to stand. Booker leaps... HEAT SEEKER DROPKICK!!! THE FANS POP!

Stevie: (laughing) HAHA! YOU STILL SUCK!! Leave the DAMN FED!!!

Booker gets up from Raven.. and goes BACK to the corner. He gets to the top and leaps again... HARLEM HANGOVER....

Raven rolls out of the way!! Booker hits hard! Slick covers his head! Stevie gets hystical with laughter, exaggerating by slapping his knee. Raven pulls up Booker in a standing sideheadlock, turning the head to the side and working on the neck.

Stevie begins to move toward Slick, mocking his dancing. Slick holds his cane... ready.... but he backs a half-step back away. Raven continues to torque on the head and neck region.... then sees Stevie moving in at Slick.

Raven grabs Booker by the back of his tights... and throws him THROUGH the ropes and at Stevie's feet.... RAVEN GOES OUT AFTER HIM!!!
