SUMMERSLAM REPORT
Dok Hendriks is taking a seat behind the desk in the Event Center. The Summerslam logo is emblazoned across the front of the desk. Dok puts on the official Summerslam sunglasses and opens up his sports jacket to show the Summerslam shirt.
Dok: Helllooooo pay-per-viewers, we are within THREE WEEKS to the hottest pay-per-view of the year....SUMMERSLAM!!! It will originate from the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey... August the 24th!
PPV and ticket information flashes up on the screen, as well as the Summerslam Hotline number.
Dok: Smilin' Dok here to run down some of the matches at Summerslam! Of course, the BIG talk is the two HUGE elimination matches. WCW vs. WWF in the big one. Ted DiBiase, the WCW President will lace up the boots for the first time since WrestleMania III to captain his team against the all-star line-up assembled by Chaotic Corey Major, comprised of WWF stars.
The Nitro logo appears up on the screen.
Dok: And while we're on the subject, there was a great deal of controversy last night on Monday Nitro. The WCW team attempted to 'silence' the situation through careful editing and camera-work, but everyone knew what happened when a 'familiar' voice cut in over the broadcast.
Dok: We're unable to talk about it right now. Roddy Piper is trying to get permission to use the footage... and we expect to see it this week on Superstars if all goes well. If not, then we may get some details on the forthcoming WCW website.
The logo fades out.
Dok: Corey's team, comprised of the Unified Tag Champions, the Hart Foundation, the Ultimate Warrior and Ahmed Johnson will face in an elimination match, Ted DiBiase with Faarooq, Lex Luger, Marc Mero and Dean Malenko!
Dok: The Malenko/Hart situation is starting to heat up. Their verbal exchanges could escalate and erupt when they get in the ring at Summerslam! And I'm sure the Ultimate Warrior is going to be PUMPED to get back at Lex Luger for HIS remarks. Heck... the entire TEAM is going to want at DiBiase's Team WCW.
The female wrestlers are shown on the screen...
Dok: But DiBiase doesn't just employ WCW workers. He also has secured the services of the Femme Fatales! This team will be joined by a MYSTERY partner at Summerslam to take on Wild Chylde DiBiase's group of Roxanne, Venus Victrix, Heart Attack and Jade! We will finally see Atlantra and Jade in the ring.... Womankind will face Roxanne again, and I"m sure want some revenge for what Wild Chylde did to her. Gold-Dust and Venus are not fans of each other, nor is River Wyld and the NEW QUEEN, Heart Attack!
Dok: That match will also be an elimination match, and if Wild Chylde's team wins... there will be a PRIZE from Ted DiBiase! I wonder what THAT could be. If the Femme Fatales win, Ted will DOUBLE whatever he is already paying them for their services! Fans, there are probably numbers with a LOT of zeroes flying around for this.
Dok is shown once again as the women's wrestlers fade out.
Dok: There's MORE on the card... like Booker T. against Stevie Ray! Booker seems to be FED UP with what Stevie has been doing. Booker isn't going ANYWHERE... but to Summerslam for revenge against Stevie Ray, who has not only hit his friend Slick, but also embarassed them on national tv by costing him match after match. Booker and Stevie... Summerslam...
Just then, Todd Pettingill comes into view. Dok looks suprised to see him.
Dok: Todd... what do YOU want?
Todd looks around the center with a look of fondness.
Todd: Dok... I'd like to have my old job back. The Empire is long gone... Taylor Tech is FINISHED... I'd like to go back to just being ME again.
Dok: I'm not the one you gotta talk to, bro. Bam Bam is the man. HE'S the one that fired your behind.
Todd looks a little nervous... thinking...
Todd: Do you think you could get me in to talk to him?
Dok: (pauses) Sure. Let me finish it off here...
Dok looks to the camera, and Todd sheepishly steps out of view.
Dok: Fans... SUMMERSLAM! It's on it's way! I'll be back for more reports and more information. There is some late-breaking news even right NOW! So check back! Later!
Pillman: Late breaking news? Like what? The cast from Miami Vice has opened their doors and are selling all their old clothes at half price?
JR: Heart Attack is right! You need a joke book! Now it's time for our Main Event! Two out of three falls! The top two contenders for the World Tag Team Titles! The UNIFIED Tag Team Titles! The champions are at ringside... the #3 ranked team is at ringside... and the two teams are standing by! Let's go to them now, this should be a GREAT match!
PEARL RIVER POWER PRE-MATCH INTERVIEW
Ahmed Johnson and Rocky Miavia are standing by with Tito Santana in the PRP's locker room, dressed and anxious to wrestle. Rocky's got a confident look on his face, as does Ahmed.
Santana: Jim Ross, you're exactly RIGHT! This match should be a GREAT ONE! NOW, Ahmed Johnson, the Pearl River Powerhouse, you and your young partner have been thrown into the spotlight and the center of tag team attention with your three wins. Do you feel you're ready to begin competing for title shots and title belts?
Johnson: Tito, if I thought we were to young, I wouldn't be standing right here right now. I would have told President Piper "Thanks, but no thanks." The two of us are pretty confident that we will win tonight.
Santana: This match has a pretty heavy stipulation on it, 2 out of 3 Pinfalls. This is just a hefty task, isn't it?!
Johnson: Once again, if I felt like we weren't ready, then we wouldn't be in this match. We're confident that we can take 2 of 3 pinfalls against these guys and roll forward.
Santana: Rocky, this question is directed towards you. Should you win tonight and go on to face the tag champs, the Hart Foundation, will you be able to take the IMMENSE presure that comes with title shots?!
Miavia: I think my partner said it best. If I wasn't ready, then we wouldn't be here. The fact of the matter is, WE'RE READY!
Ahmed and Rocky burst out of the doors in anticipation of the match.
