Dok Hendriks is seen standing at the top of the Providence Civic Center. Fans are filing in, finding their seats. The lights over the ring have not been turned on yet. The large video wall shows the King of the Ring logo.

Technicians and attendants are seen setting up the ring equipment. The announcers are already down at their table, going over their notes.

Dok is in a very nice tuxedo.

Dok: Hello fans! It's Free-For-All time! That means we are within 30 minutes to the Pay-Per-View extravaganza... THE KING OF THE RING! Tonight... the winner will not only be KING... but will become the NEW T.V. Champion of the WWF!!! Macho Man Randy Savage will be down in THAT RING THERE to award the crown and title belt to the winner. I can't WAIT!

Dok starts walking along the top section, fans are filing in. They jump in front of the camera for a moment to show off. Dok smiles at them. The camera pans around the fans and they let up a cheer!

Dok: Everybody is SO psyched up! The King of the Ring tournament is very prestigious! Rick Rude was the FIRST King, winning the I/C title in the process over Ricky the Dragon Steamboat in the finals.

Dok: In 1995, we saw Bret the Hitman Hart defeat Razor Ramon with a backslide out of the Razor's Edge to win. And just last year, Big Daddy Cool Diesel defeated Mr. Perfect to become KING Daddy Cool. He's here tonight to defend his crown and he's got the GIANT in the Quarter-Finals!

The lights come on over the ring and the fans CHEER!!! The stands seem to double, then triple in number of fans quickly. Then, over the speakers, the sound of a CAT GROWL is heard!

The Wildman Marc Mero comes down the aisle with the Million Dollar Man by his side. The fans boo!!!!

Dok: The GAUNTLET! It's time! Let's get down to ring announcer Howard Finkel.

The camera comes down to Howard Finkel, who is in a tuxedo and is standing in the middle of the ring.

Fink: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is a special GAUNTLET MATCH for the WCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! Already in the ring, with the WCW President, the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase.... THE WILDMAN MARC MERO!!!

The fans boo loudly! The camera then picks up Jim Ross and Bam Bam Bigelow at the announcer's table.

JR: Howdy folks! Good ol'J.R. along with the Beast from the East... maybe the V.P. from the East... BAM BAM BIGELOW!

Bam Bam: Hey JR! And listen to these fans boo! They remember when Mero was here in the WWF... and what he did to his friends in the Network... and ESPECIALLY what he did to SABLE!

JR: Not to mention how he stabbed his friend Ahmed Johnson in the back at WCW's Spring Stampede!

Bam Bam: Ahmed will try to get revenge here tonight on WWF soil! If he wins, he'll face Faarooq, his old nemesis... then if he makes that one... THE TOTAL PACKAGE LEX LUGER!

JR: And at stake... the WCW World Title! If Ahmed wins all three matches, he comes to the WWF... WITH the World Title! I know Ted DiBiase won't want to see THAT happen!

Bam Bam: And he looks ready to try an' stop it, too!

JR: Let's get up to the ring... FOR THE GAUNTLET!
