Providence, RI
The screen shows the parking garage of the Providence Civic Center, where a car has just pulled into a stall. Mean Gene stands in the center of the shot.
Mean Gene: I'm here inside the garage area of the arena, where the wrestlers will all be arriving for tonight's King of the Ring. Hey, you can still place your orders to join us live on pay-per-view for this spectacular!
Mean Gene: But right now, after the events of TNT this week, I was hoping to get some comments from a certain indivdual who I was told would be arriving here now.
The doors of the car that pulled in open up, and Rick Rude and Sting step out. Sting opens the trunk and pulls out his bags, as Rude lifts something from the backseat. Mean Gene begins walking towards them.
Mean Gene: Ah! Sting, could I get a few words with you here about the events that transpired this week on -
Sting slams the trunk down and brushes past Gene, as if he didn't even see him. Sting continues by and heads into the arena.
Mean Gene: HEY! Rick Rude, what in the world is going on here?!
Rick Rude: Never you mind, divot head. Sting doesn't feel much like talking right now.
Mean Gene: Well maybe I can get your take on what happened. Rude, what's the story on what happneed back on TNT?
Rick Rude: What's the story? You saw it just as clear as everyone else did, little man. This big, bad group sends out their lowest man on the totum pole to attack a woman ... and from behind, no less. While he's taking Starr Blaze out, and we're watching on the monitors, Sting shoots out past me and rushes down to the ring.
Mean Gene: Where he got NAILED!
Rick Rude: Exactly. Taylor Tech had a bit of a trap sprung, and the Stinger walked right into it. But once I saw what was going on, it was LIGHTS OUT for The Giant.
Mean Gene: Has Sting suffered any ill effects after the attack? Injuries, anything like that?
Rick Rude: No, he's doing fine ... physically. Mentally is a totally different story. Giant, you may big a big tough man ... but if I were you, I'd pray to GOD that you don't beat Diesel tonight. Cause if you do, Sting is gonna put his foot right up your a-
Mean Gene: HEY! We're live here! Rude, one more question if I may. Just WHY did Sting go to out ringside in the first place?! He didn't have any reason to be out there!
Rude looks at Gene annoyed, and shoves him back.
Rick Rude: Don't you worry about it, Okerlund. Jeff Jarrett was right on about you. All I'll tell you is that Sting issued a challenge to the Machine a few weeks ago. We've heard nothing in responce.
Mean Gene: He DID challenge the Machine!
Rick Rude: The Machine not only attacks women and managers from behind, he's been using the Scorpion Deathdrop to do it. Sting isn't happy about that. But after what happened on TNT ... Gene, I would NOT want to be in the shoes of the Machine ... or of Taylor Tech in general.
Rude walks off and makes his way into the arena.
Mean Gene: Well, thank you, Rick Rude. Obviously, Sting is focused here tonight, and determined to become King! But will his apparent grudge with Taylor Tech side track him?! We'll find out later on tonight, and YOU'LL find out if you get on the horn and make that call to join us on pay-per-view! Let's get back into the arena and take you to ...
