The Match:
Sting makes his way through the curtain and down to the ring, wearing black tights, a scorpion t-shirt, and carrying his bat. Double J follows behind him, carrying a chair. Sting hops up into the ring and climbs to the second rope, where he looks out at the crowd.

The Hart Foundation music starts to play as pink and white lights move across the fans. In the center of the ring a large pink heart starts to move around. The Canadian fans go crazy for their countryman, screaming clapping and stomping their feet! The Hitman walks to ringside high fiving the fans, behind him walks the Anvil, Jim Neidhart who is just laughing and high fiving the fans as well. When the Hitman gets to the ring he rolls in, and holds his hands out to the fans, as he does that fire works burst above the ring, the Anvil laughs again. Bret then rolls out of the ring, and heads to a family. He puts his sunglasses on the young girl at ringside, but then drapes his leather jacket over her older brother and messes up his hair. Then the Hitman rolls back into the ring, and looks ready to wrestle.

JR: This is going to be SOMETHING else! If you thought the Taylor/Perfect match was awesome... wait until these two go at it!

Sarah: Bret had a rough night last night at Qualify 97, winning the world tag titles. Sting has the edge being rested and healthy.

JR: That's not how Bret Hart would see it. He doesn't make excuses. He gets in the ring... and wrestles! Let's get it started!

The bell rings! The Hitman stalks around Sting... then suprises him with a headbutt... and a single leg takedown! The Hitman rises up with the leg... and snaps it around, emphasizing pressure on the knee! Bret backs away and let's Sting rise up on his own.

Bret pushes back into the ropes... runs at Sting... and FOREARMS hin in the head! Sting's head snaps back... and he drops... but drop toe holds Bret! Sting rises up... and ELBOW drops the leg of Bret Hart! He stands up and kicks at Bret's lower back... repeatedly!!!

The Hitman dives into both of Sting's legs and takes him down, coming up with punches in his face. Sting gets a foot under Bret and pushes him back, then kips up to his feet.

Bret drops down, and drop toeholds Sting forward onto his face, then rides him into a spinning toe hold. Sting pushes with his legs and kicks him back. Both men scamble up to their feet!

JR: What a series of moves and exchanges! These two can fight ya... they can wrestle ya. They can go any way you want! And these fans are in for a TREAT!

Sting leaps... extends his legs.. into a drop kick into Bret's chest, knocking him down. Sting rises up over Bret and repeatedly kicks the Hitman in the back... then the leg... then the back. Bret grabs one of the legs... holds it... and tilts Sting over and down, wrapping on a leg lock, scissoring it with his own leg... and adding damage with punches.

Sting reaches the bottom strand and the ref forces Bret to break. Both men get back up to their feet and square off.

The Road Warriors are shown, still patrolling ringside. On the opposite side is Brutus and the Warrior. Double J keeps an eye out as well.

Sarah: One thing is certain... NO ONE is getting involved in this match!

Behind her, S. B. Peterson takes some notes on the match. Bret moves in at Sting... and kicks him in the stomach... then axehandles him on the back of the head. Sting throws up an uppercut that catches Bret on the nose, spinning him around. Sting rises up... and dropkicks Bret to the back, knocking him down and dropping an elbow on him!!!

Sting throws the Hitman to the ropes... and CATCHES HIM IN A SLEEPER!!! Bret drops down to his knees, reaches back and flips Sting off of him! He turns and steps through Sting's legs... and wraps on a STEP OVER TOE HOLD!!! He wrenches it on and Sting's face twists around in pain!!!

JR: A nice set-up for the Sharpshooter! Bret needs to catch his breath too. Sting really layed into him with those kicks!

Sarah: Look at Bret wrench that move on! This should even it up a bit in the 'leg' department!

JR: Yes indeed! We'll be right back after these words!
