RESULTS: Monday Night Raw June 23, 1997

ADRIEN MOVES ASIDE!! THE KID CRASHES!!! The Blizzard gets up to his feet... the Kid does too, doubled over in pain. Blades charges...

SHOULDERBLOCK!!! The Kid is knocked into the ropes and bounces back. Blades pulls him up... INTO A BODYSLAM!!!

JR: Now he's gotta keep it going!!

Blades pulls the Kid up and drapes his throat across the ropes... and starts to wrap his arms around his head to choke him. The Kid kicks back... and NAILS the Blizzard in the shin, causing him to lose his balance.

The Kid brings up his fist and spins back with it... and CONNECTS right in Blade's chin!!! Blades stumbles backwards, his arms flailing.

The Kid springboards on the second rope up onto the cage... then he leaps back...FLYING AXEHANDLE!!! Blades IS KNOCKED DOWN!!!

JR: The Kid is using the cage well. Everything he does is to HIS advantage.

The Kid starts landing punches into the Blizzard's face. Blades fires back. The Kid pulls up his hand.... as if to strike! He thrusts it in... A NERVE HOLD!!! RIGHT ON THE SIDE OF THE NECK!!! Blades' legs kick in pain.

Heart Attack: Close to being a CHOKE!

JR: And totally LEGAL in a match like this!

The Blizzard's kicking legs slow down as the Kid maintains the pressure. Finally... Blades stops moving. The Kid stands up, raising his arm in victory.

JR: It's not over yet... but then again....

The Kid moves back to the corner... and starts to climb up. The camera shows the Blizzard again... seemingly unconcious in the middle of the ring. The Kid is halfway up....

JR: Blades was playin' possum before!

Heart Attack: The Kid seems confident!

The Kid reaches the top of the cage, facing in this time. He looks down at the Blizzard... who still seems out. The Kid LEAPS!!! He soars down into the ring... AND SPLASHES THE BLIZZARD RIGHT ACROSS THE CHEST AND HEAD!!!

JR: HE MUST'VE BEEN SOARIN' WITH THE 747's!!!!!

The Kid hooks both the Blizzard's legs, and the ref dives into position for his only duty... one... two.... three!!!!! The Kid stands up, holding both arms in the air! He looks exhausted as he stumbles to the cage door and exits.

Some officials enter the ring to help out the Blizzard as the technicians start to dismantle the cage.

JR: That was a much needed win for the Kid. And he did it WITHOUT Taylor Tech!

Heart Attack: Both of these guys needed wins... and the Kid did it!

JR: Well.. while they're dismantling the cage... let's hear from our esteemed Vice President... Bam Bam Bigelow.

Heart Attack: Why don't you fill me in on what he says, J.R. I've got something to attend to.

JR: Well... alright! Let's to go Bam Bam now.

Heart Attack gets up from the table and walks to the back....

Vice President Bam Bam Bigelow is backstage, holding one of the WWF Slammy Awards in his hand.

Bam Bam: First, I'd like ta thank EVERYBODY that participated in last week's Slammy Nominations. We hope that it will help us with more accurate results at the year's end.

Bam Bam: But folks, we ain't done yet. Nope, we're going to do MORE awards this week.

The screen changes to show some phone numbers and information about the upcoming Slammy Award nominations.

Bam Bam: This week, we're gonna nominate in the followin' three catagories: MANAGER OF THE YEAR..... ROOKIE OF THE YEAR... and FEUD OF THE YEAR.

Bam Bam: Remember ta send in THREE nominations for each.... and that ya gotta vote if ya wanna be eligible ta win one yourself.
