: the PRE-GAME SHOW

JR: Now, the next match we're going to talk about is the Career Ending Stretcher Match! There was one a year ago, between Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III. Phenomenal. 1996 Match of the Year! Won a Slammy. But this one could even overshadow that one! Ric Flair and the Macho Man Randy Savage. Ric Flair is standing by now to talk about this match. Let's go to the Nature Boy.

RIC FLAIR

Flair:RANDY SAVAGE!! WrestleMania is almost upon us, and that means lots of things for lots of people! For Diesel, it means the chance to avenge the acts of the big Giant! For the Stinger, it means the chance to take hold of Double J and break him in half! But for ME, WrestleMania is the chance to not only beat, humiliate, and ruin you, Savage! It's also my chance to do what almost EVERY wrestler in the WWF would like to do, and that is end your career! Your time in the WWF is drawing to a close, Savage, so take care of your goodbyes! Make sure the Mega Powers will have a new leader! Because when you're carted off on the stretcher after the match, the entire world will know that you're done! You know you can't beat Ric Flair! I know you can't do it! Elizabeth knows you can't do it! Double A knows it! Benoit knows it! The Stinger knows it! The fans all around the world know that you can't do it! And when the match ends at WrestleMania, and the career of Randy Savage is over, I will have proven once again just why Ric Flair is the ICON of wrestling today! WHOOOOOO!

JR: Well, I'm going to keep my opinions to myself instead of risking my getting into MORE hot water! So I'm going to send this out to you... Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage.

Sarah: Well, as much as I hate to say this... I think JR is right about this one. Randy Savage, though he is great... he just isn't focused enough to win this match. I'm going to have to go with Ric Flair. I only hope I'm wrong on this one.

Heart Attack: I'm going to have to disagree with one thing! I think JR that you were wrong! I think that Macho Man HAD other 'people' around when Elizabeth was around... and I think THAT'S why Elizabeth left in the first place!

Pillman: HAH! Did you hear that!? Heart Attack thinks that Randy Savage is just like her! So you think he was cheating on Elizabeth then?

Heart Attack: Well, he pretty much came out and said that didn't he?

JR: Well, that's either true like YOU'RE saying... or he's lyin' and covering up the fact that he ISN'T over Elizabeth.

Heart Attack: I don't know!

Pillman: Ah... he put the final nail in his casket when he got in MY face a few weeks ago on Raw. Savage is making too many enemies here. We were going to let the Horsemen deal with him... but don't be suprised if Randy doesn't make it to that match in one piece!

Heart Attack: Yeah, I kinda figured that after I read yours and Todd's newsletters.

Sarah: I wouldn't be suprised if the Empire gets involved in this one. I'm not suprised at ANYTHING the Empire does anymore!

Pillman: You WILL be! We've only BEGUN!

JR: Well, I just hope we can clear the air for the Macho Man. If he does lose, I hope he can go out with the cheers of the fans. And if he does win, I hope he can get back on track again.

Heart Attack: Everything aside, I'd hate to see Macho Man lose.

JR: I'd hate to see Ric Flair gone as well!

Sarah: I just hope I'm wrong in this one, and Macho Man comes out on top.

JR: I think the sport will be darker if either one of these men would have to leave. They're both all-time greats! But one man WILL leave.

JR: Speaking of all-time greats. We've got some great tag teams! Up next we're going to talk about the Scaffold Match for the Unified Tag Team Titles! The Road Warriors challenging the Harlem Heat! The Road Warriors are UNDEFEATED in Scaffold Matches!

Sarah: I think we're gonna see new tag team champs after this one. This IS the LOD's kind of match! They've been here before. And growing up in the streets of Chicago, they know how to handle themselves. I think Booker T and Stevie Ray have a DATE 30' down with the mat.

Heart Attack: Yeah, well Harlem Heat are from the streets as well! But you're right, this IS the Road Warriors kind of match. They've been in them before... and they are visibly ticked off. And we heard them... they're coming armed with some pretty heavy artillery.

Pillman: Oh YEAH! The Road Warriors are 'ticked off'! They're ticked off at ME! Spray painting me... putting hair dye on me...! And everytime they've turned their attention elsewhere... the Harlem Heat has been all over them... kicking their BUTTS! And how can you say this ISN'T the HARLEM HEAT'S type of match!? They've never been IN one! So how do you know? We all remember the cage match at the Rumble... and ALL their matches. The Heat is resourceful! They can use weapons and things at ringside. They won't be alone! They'll bring in their attitudes and ferocity!

Sarah: Yeah, but they're going to be 30' up in the air... and the Empire is not going to be with them!

Pillman: Who said ANYTHING about Empire! And for once... the MEGA POWERS won't be with them EITHER! It's finally going to be two on two! We're sick of the Mega Powers and their little ARMIES down at ringside!

Heart Attack: That's something I'm glad to see on both sides. I'd like to see it settled in the ring instead of outside, like it's been.

JR: That's why Piper made this a Scaffold match, because both of these teams have made a lot of enemies and have too many allies. It WILL be finished once and for all! These teams have hated each other since before Survivor Series. They've wrestled only once two on two in a match. The Heat got the win... but now, throw in the titles AND 30' feet!

Sarah: I'm STILL going with the Road Warriors in this one!

JR: I'm gonna say it's a PICK 'EM!

Heart Attack: Me too.
